ROOM HIRE, CAPACITY AND DURATION
- The Gables has many areas which afford interesting backdrops for photographs. You are welcome to avail yourself of these during your function.
- The Gables is able to accommodate up to 150 guests seated.
- The Client is responsible for the cost of making good any damages or loss caused to The Gables building, furniture, fittings and equipment arising out of and in the course of the function.
- Any items of property brought to The Gables are at the owners risk, The Gables cannot guarantee the safety of any items, in particular those left on the premises after the conclusion of the function.
- The Gables is unable to extend your function after midnight due to noise restrictions, however, arrangements may be made should your function conclude prior to this time, you may extend until midnight at an additional cost of $5.00 per guest per hour plus additional drinks which will be charged on a consumption basis.
Except with prior arrangement from The Gables in writing the following applies:
- Cocktail functions are of three (3) hours duration
- Afternoon Teas are of three (3) hours duration
- Luncheon functions are four and a half (4 1/2) hours and dinner functions are 5 hours duration.
- Package Dinner and Luncheon Wedding functions are of five (5) hour
- The Gables has gardens which are at the disposal of the guests for the duration of your function at no additional charge
- Please ensure that your guests do not arrive before the starting time of your function as refusal of entry may cause embarrassment.
- The Gables does not permit smoking in the House, however, a veranda and gardens are available.
- A minimum expenditure is applicable and may be applied on certain days of the week.
- Should your function be for less that 80 guests a venue hire is charged at $500.00.
MENU SELECTION
- The menu selection will take place 30 days prior to the function
- The number of guests will be confirmed 30 days prior to the function
- Additional guests must be notified seven (7) days prior to the function.
- Please choose two (2) of each course. Courses are served alternatively.
- The substantial cocktail menu selection to be confirmed thirty days prior to the function.
- Please advise us at least seven (7) days in advance of your function if there is any special dietary requirements i.e. Vegetarian, Lactose or Glutton intolerance etc. As we will need to discuss these requests.
- Meals for children and musicians, DJ, Photographer etc. are available at $40.00 each
- The Gables understands that you may wish to bring additional items of food of special significance to the other guests; whilst this is acceptable no responsibility can be taken by The Gables for the quality of any food not prepared in its own kitchen.
MUSIC
- In the interest of local residents strict controls must be enforced on the type of entertainment provided at functions. Noise must be kept to a reasonable level. Your music requirements should be discussed at the time of booking.
RESPONSIBLE SERVICE OF ALCOHOL
- All Gables staff have attained Certificates of Responsible Service of Alcohol in accordance with the Licensing Laws and they will not serve alcohol to those under the age of 18, nor to those who supply alcohol to those under the age of 18. they will not serve alcohol to those guests who, in the opinion of the staff members, are intoxicated. Proof of age may be required by some of your guests.
SECURITY DEPOSIT AND PAYMENTS
- The Gables requires $1,000.00 security deposit to be paid t the time of booking the function to secure your chosen date and time, a confirmation letter and receipt will be forwarded to you. Your security deposit is a refundable fee held by The Gables to cover any damage or additional cleaning resulting from the function. Please also see Cancellations. The Security Deposit will be refunded within seven (7) days after the function less any costs as above.
- 50% forward payment of the estimated cost of the function is required not less than 60 days prior to the function when numbers will be discussed.
- The balance of the moneys is due for payment 30 days prior to the function.
CANCELLATION
- Your security deposit will not be refunded if your function is cancelled unless the date can be re-booked.
- If the date and time can be re-booked your security deposit will be refunded less a fee of $100.00.
CONDITIONS OF USE OF THE GABLES
- The Client assumes responsibility for any and all damage caused by any guest attending the function to any part of the property
- The Client must not nail, screw or adhere in any way to any part of the building anything without prior written permission.
- The Gables reserves the right to change its menus and prices when it becomes necessary because of the higher cost of produce.
- All prices on our Menus and Packages are inclusive of GST.
- All our Menus and Packages may be changed at any time because of the Season or fluctuation in market prices.
